CBCA Book of the Year Award 2025 Shortlist
The Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year Awards are held every year with the aim to promote quality literature for Australian children by Australian creators.
Winners and Honours books will be announced at 12pm on Friday, 15 August.
BOOK OF THE YEAR: OLDER READERS
BOOK OF THE YEAR: YOUNGER READERS
Entries in this category are appropriate in style and content for readers from the middle to upper primary years (ages 7-12 years).
BOOK OF THE YEAR: EARLY CHILDHOOD
Entries in this category are appropriate in style and content for children who are at pre-reading or early stages of reading (ages 0-6 years).
THE PICTURE BOOK OF THE YEAR
Entries in this category are picture books that could be suitable for children from ages 0-18 years.
EVE POWNALL AWARD
Entries in this category are books which share factual information and could be appropriate for ages 0-18 years.
CBCA Award for New Illustrator
This Award aims to recognise and encourage new talent in the field of Australian children’s book illustration. Ages 0-18 years.
